Increasing Minimum Wage to €1,000 in Portugal

The Government Anticipates Minimum Wage to Reach €1,000 by 2028 and Average Salary to Hit €1,750 by 2030

In Portugal, the average salary is almost the same as the minimum wage, and there aren't many rewards for working harder. So, the Government wants to raise the national minimum wage to 1,000 euros by 2028.


Luís Montenegro's team also pledges to create the right circumstances to support raising the average salary to €1,750 by 2030, focusing on productivity improvements and discussions with society.
